United Nations Under - Secretary General for political affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, begins official visit to Colombia
Bogotá, 13 November 2017. For second time this year, the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs visits Colombia to analyse the progress of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia and learn first-hand about the progress and challenges of the implementation of the Final Peace Agreement.
During his two-day visit, Mr. Feltman will meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, senior government officials, representatives of the FARC, members of civil society, the international community and the United Nations System in the country.
In his previous visit to Colombia last June, Mr. Feltman visited one of the Transitional Points in the department of Cesar, where he observed first-handt the FARC-EP arms laydown process, accompanied by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Colombia and Head of the UN Verification Mission in Colombia.
The Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs visits Colombia with the purpose of supporting the consolidation of peace.
At the end of his two-day visit to Colombia, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman will meet with media.
