Press Release on formal delivering to Colombian Government of material resulting from laydown of arms process, that were stored in the UN Mission General Armament Warehouse

Bogotá. 13 October 2017. The United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia informs that today it has formally delivered to Colombian Government: 69,034 kilograms of material resulting from the deactivation and destruction of all FARC-EP armaments and ammunition that were stored in the UN Mission General Armament Warehouse. The delivery was carried out under the custody and security guarantee of the Special Peace Police Unit (UNIPEP its acronyms in Spanish).

The delivery was made in accordance with the note sent to the Mission on October 6 by the Colombian Presidency, and as it was agreed within the framework of the Commission for Monitoring, Promoting and Verifying the Implementation of the Final Agreement (CSIVI – Spanish acronym).

This is the last activity related to the FARC-EP laying down of weapons carried out by the United Nations Mission in Colombia.
