Closure of UNMC

The United Nations Mission in Colombia was established on 26 January 2016 to provide support to the peace process. Its mandate ended on 26 September 2017, and its responsibilities were transferred to the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia.

MVM Press Release: Tripartite mechanism verifies possible incident in Caquetá

Bogotá - The Regional Office of the tripartite Monitoring and Verification Mechanism in Florencia, department of Caquetá, is advancing the verification of possible clashes between two armed groups that took place in the vicinity of the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán. The verification is coordinated with Colombian Military Forces that will provide security in the area.

Such events reportedly took place in the the communities (veredas) of "La Novia Celestial" and "Tailandia", according to reports received today, also indicating the possible death of two people.

Once the results of this verification are finalized they will be made public
