UN Verification Mission Colombia supports peace efforts in Policarpa, Nariño

On 13 February, the UN Verification Mission in Colombia [2] provided books, and educational and technological materials to improve the Peace Library of the San Francisco de Asís Educational Institution in the village of Madrigal. The Institution is located in Policarpa, Nariño, one of the municipalities most affected by violence in southern Colombia. This initiative took place during a reconciliation and peacebuilding event, in which the UNVMC also participated in a series of meetings with local authorities, leaders and communities working on peacebuilding efforts.
 

The Mission conducts these events as part of its work to verify security guarantees, reintegration process and pedagogy of the Mission's mandates in the remotest areas of Colombia.
